Pros: It’s super-fast, reliable, and safe to use. You can send money to anyone in 33 African countries.

Cons: You won”t be able to buy airtime and pay utility bills on the App. You must also have a national passport to register which is a major barrier to those who only have other valid means of identification.

2. Waya: Waya is a highly secured App that helps you send money to anyone in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana in less than 5 minutes at zero charges.

Pros: Transactions are free. You only get to transfer based on the current exchange rate which is displayed during a transaction. Highly secured and easy to sign up for.

Cons: It doesn’t work in all African countries at the moment but plans to roll out in other African regions in the next couple of months.

3. WorldRemit: WorldRemit is an international payment company that added a new service to its features which makes it easier to send and receive money across Africa.

Cons: It’s currently available in only 7 African countries. Transfers aren’t free.

Pros: Offers flexible banking services like insurance and bill payments. You can access it without the internet.

Cons: Only works in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Togo. High exchange rates.

6. Chipper cash: This app offers instant cross-border mobile money transfers in Africa at some selected countries in Africa. You just need to connect your mobile money account, or multiple mobile money accounts if you have them, to your Chipper Cash wallet to start sending money.

Pros: You can use Chipper Cash for other online payments like airtime recharge, pay your cable TV, internet, and electricity bills.

Cons: Only operates in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, and Ghana. Recipients must have a Chipper cash account to receive money.
